Robert J. Sneeringer, Esq.
President

Robert Sneeringer, President of Sneeringer Monahan Provost Redgrave Title Agency, Inc., has over 25 years of title examination experience and supervises the issuance of title insurance policies for thousands of transactions annually. Bob specializes in complex commercial real estate sales and refinancings, and the structuring of IRC Section 1031 like kind exchanges.

In addition to his role as President at SMPR, Bob maintains a private law practice concentrating in real estate. He also lecturers at continuing legal education seminars. His clients include national, regional and local banking institutions, hospitals, and developers.

Bob is a graduate of Colgate University and Albany Law School, where he was a member of the Justinian Society, and was admitted to the practice of law in New York State in 1989. Bob is a member of the Albany County, Saratoga County, New York State and American Bar Associations. Bob is also a Manager Capital Intermediary, an IRC Section 1031 like kind exchange qualified intermediary.

Bob is actively involved in civic and community affairs. He has served on the Board of Directors of The Capital District YMCA and on the Board of Trustees of St. Gregory’s School for Boys.

In his free time Bob enjoys baseball games and is a runner. He resides in Albany County with his family.

Eugene M. Sneeringer, Jr., Esq.
Senior Vice-President and Secretary

Eugene M. Sneeringer Jr. has over 30 years of experience in the title insurance industry. Mr. Sneeringer concentrates on commercial real estate development with emphasis on acquisitions, drafting legal documents pertaining to the financing of commercial and industrial real estate and negotiation and facilitation of ground lease transactions. He represents national, regional and local banking and institutional lenders as well as developers and builders.

Mr. Sneeringer earned his undergraduate degree at Colgate University. He attended Albany Law School and was admitted to the Bar in 1980. Mr. Sneeringer is a frequent lecturer for the New York State Bar Association, Albany County Bar Association and other organizations on topics concerning real estate practice, commercial mortgage lending, title insurance, mortgage foreclosure and mechanics liens.

Mr. Sneeringer has been active in his community and is a dedicated runner. He resides Albany County with his wife, Susan. He has three grown children, Carolyn, Peter and Jeffrey.

Donna Redgrave

Donna Redgrave, Senior Vice President at Sneeringer Monahan Provost Redgrave Title Agency, Inc. has been working in the title insurance industry for 40 years. Donna worked for 4 years in the Saratoga County Treasurer’s office as a Senior Account Clerk and then began her career in the title industry as a typist for Gifford Abstract.

When the Title Insurance industry worked its way into the Capital District, and to Gifford Abstract in particular, Donna was poised to learn the business and make a career for herself in the rapidly expanding market for title insurance and settlement services. Donna along with Tim Provost launched their own business in 1986 – Provost and Redgrave Title Services, Inc.

Donna learned the industry through hands on daily experience and has achieved extensive knowledge in reading, searching, and closing titles for both commercial and residential transactions. Provost and Redgrave merged with the Sneeringers in 1996 and Donna has now been widely recognized for over 30 years as an expert in the Title Industry.

Donna attended college at Murray State University in her home State of Kentucky. She is one of the founding and managing members of Capital Intermediary, LLC, a company specializing in Section 1031 like-kind exchanges. Additionally, Donna is active in her community of Saratoga Springs. She has served on the Board of Directors of The Saratoga Springs Preservation Foundation and has been a member of the Saratoga County chapter of Soroptomist International, an international organization committed to promoting the welfare and advancement of women and girls. She is a member of the Saratoga Chamber of Commerce as well as the Ballston Spa Business and Professional Association.

Melissa L. Clement
Chief Operating Officer of Sneering Monahan Provost Redgrave Title Agency

Melissa L. Clement is the Chief Operating Officer of Sneering Monahan Provost Redgrave Title Agency, Inc. Melissa joined the team in 2015 and in January 2018 Melissa became a Partner.  Melissa oversees IT, Human Resources, Business Development and operational matters. 

Melissa is active in the community and currently serves on the Vanderheyden, Inc. Board, advisory board for Women’s Employment and Resource Center and the New York Land Title Insurance board.  Melissa is a past participant in the Saratoga Leadership program, holds hers Bachelor of Science in Business, Management and Economics and is a Veteran of the United States Army.

James Monahan
Senior Vice President at SMPR

James “Jim” Monahan, Senior Vice President at SMPR, has over 35 years of experience in the title insurance industry. He began searching titles at the age of 15 in Putnam County, New York and Western Connecticut. Jim merged his company, Monahan Title Agency, with Sneeringer Provost Redgrave Title Agency in 2001 to form SMPR.

Jim oversees the Hudson and Poughkeepsie offices and part of his daily responsibilities include clearing complex title issues, overseeing underwriting activities and managing large commercial transactions. He is consulted as an expert on matters related to real estate throughout the State of New York on a regular basis.

Prior to merging to form SMPR, Jim joined Monahan Abstract Corporation on a full time basis in 1986. He expanded the service area from regional to statewide and tripled the size of company operations through 1996. Mr. Monahan became President of Monahan Abstract in 1998 and merged Monahan Abstract and subsidiaries, acquired under his leadership, to form Monahan Title Agency.

Jim attended SUNY Stonybrook and Plattsburgh majoring in Bio Chemistry and Bio Physics. He has remained involved in his home communities and served as Chairman of the Village of Valatie Planning Board, Trustee and Deputy Mayor of the Village of Valatie, Trustee of the First Presbyterian Church of Valatie, Director of Time & Space, Ltd., A member of the Board of Assessment Review for the Town of Red Hook. Currently Jim is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Union Bank of Kinderhook and Director and Vice President of the Austerlitz Club.

Jim is an active outdoorsman and enjoys playing music.

Nicholas M. Ihnatolya
Partner with SMPR Title

Nick M. Ihnatolya, began his career as a law clerk with SMPR Title Agency, Inc., (“SMPR Title”) in 2004 and became an associate attorney at SMPR Title in 2006. In 2015 Nick became a Partner with SMPR Title.  His legal expertise is in commercial and residential real estate transactions, corporate formation, title insurance, and 1031 Exchanges, including deferred, reverse and construction exchanges.

Nick has been a lifelong resident of the Capital Region, receiving a Bachelor of Arts degree in 2002 from Siena College – Magna Cum Laude and graduating from Albany Law School in 2005. He has been admitted to practice law in New York State and Florida in 2006.

As well as his legal expertise, Nick also brings with him a passion for giving back to the community. Nick has led seminars on the basics of real estate transactions through the Albany and Saratoga County Bar Associations and the basics of title insurance through Lorman Education Services. He has also established a seminar series through SMPR Title with local real estate professionals in hopes of cultivating an understanding of the different sides to a real estate transaction.   He has published several articles with the Albany County Bar Association, Saratoga County Bar Association Newsletters, and the New York State Bar Association’s Young Lawyer’s Electronically In Touch.

Nick is professionally associated with the New York State Bar Association, Albany County Bar Association, Phi Alpha Theta – National Honor Society of History, and Pi Gamma Mu – International Social Science Honorary. Nick has been involved in the Albany Law School mentor program where he has mentored first year law students and was a member of Leadership Tech Valley 2009 Class. He now serves as a member of the Leadership Tech Valley Steering Committee, devotes time as a member of the Board of Directors for New Choices Recovery Center, and is an active member of the Legislative Review Committee for New York State Land Title Association.

Nick currently resides with his wife, Annemarie, and their three children in Halfmoon, New York and in his free time enjoys kayaking with his wife and trying to keep up with their kids and their dogs, Daisy and Susie.
